Job Description
The Fire Alarm & Fire Sprinkler Inspector (“Inspector”) will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, and testing sprinkler and fire alarm systems to the prescribed standards, identifying code and non-compliance issues to the proposed scope of work and provide quality inspections. The Inspector is also responsible for conducting pre-inspection interviews and providing information surrounding what the inspection will consist of, the duration of the inspection, how billing and repair quotes will take place, and answer any questions accordingly. A desired candidate is reliable, thorough, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
The Suppression Inspector will be responsible for performing semi-annual inspections for hood suppression systems and minor repairs while ensuring compliance per NFPA 17, 17A and 96. A desired candidate is reliable, thorough, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and is always looking out for the customer’s best interest.
The Fire Extinguisher (“FX”) Technician is primarily responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and replacing portables and accompanying products (i.e., wall hangers and brackets, surface cabinets, etc.), and exit and emergency lights per NFPA 10 regulations. A desired candidate performs the full job despite site and weather conditions, can work independently with little supervision, has professional communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customer’s best interest.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as primary point of contact and ensure customers receive quality customer service
- Conduct fire inspections for existing structures, renovations, and new construction
- Ensure customers are serviced to the highest level of satisfaction through quality service and that the customers’ expectations are satisfied before leaving job site
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire/ life safety product lines to the applicable standards
- Perform troubleshooting, service, and minor repairs as necessary
- Identify code and other non-conformance issues and make recommendations on repairs or preventive maintenance
- Review inspection report with customer and provide a detailed explanation of inspection results
- Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed
- Invoice paperwork in a timely manner
- Work closely with Lead Inspection Technician to ensure the customer receives the scheduled work promised
- Stay current with code requirements and industry changes
- Attend and complete all required safety training
- Update and complete Building Reports, for inventory purposes, while performing work
- Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc.
- Ensure proper stock of parts and equipment on company-issued vehicle
- Able to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer needs
- Maintain and outfit company provided service vehicle to effectively complete assign tasks (i.e. – Clean and Maintenance Solo Equipment, Battery Testers, Batteries, Basic Parts Supply for Minor Repairs and Minimum Level of Truck Stock/Tools)
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Perform additional duties as required
What You’ll Bring
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma/ GED
- 2+ years prior work experience
- Able to travel to multiple sites each day
- Able to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer needs
- Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
